The scenic route

I went on a bit of a figure buying spree at the tail end of last year (Offers! VAT rises! Etc.), so this year I’m trying to be a little bit better about keeping the pledge of painting more than I buy. So far I’ve nearly (just got to do the bases) finished 15 figures (life outside of painting has been busy) and managed to buy only 6. Come Sunday I intend to be officially ahead of the game.

Since I was being reasonably successful, something had to give. It started when Tunbridge Wells Wargames Society threw their annual convention — Cavalier — ten minutes walk from my flat and I picked up a box from the rather nice Battlefield in a Box range.

Fast forward a couple of months and I’m now the proud owner of a pretty reasonable set of scenery. Things will be rather less bare the next time my table sees use as a battlefield.
